If you're planning a yard landscaping project, you'll need to purchase a lot of supplies. You may need things like grass seeds, fertilizer, weed killer, plants, soil, landscaping fabric, edging, mulch, gravel, and pavers. Some of those things are easy to get home in your car as you need them, but big purchases are easier to get home if you buy them in bulk and have them delivered. Here are three bulk landscape materials you may want to buy for delivery.

1. Mulch

It's handy to buy bulk mulch and have it delivered to your driveway. You can load it up a wheelbarrow at a time and spread it where you need it. You'll probably want to put some around your plants and trees. You might even make walkways out of wood chips and save the labor of putting down pavers. Mulch comes in several types, so you'll need to know the type you want, such as wood shavings or chips. Plus, you'll need to know the dimensions of the areas where you'll put the mulch so you know how much to order.

2. Soil

Soil is another landscaping element you may need to have delivered in bulk. You might need to build up plant beds with healthy soil. If you're putting in a garden or sod, you may need to add topsoil to your yard to make the soil healthier for growing plants and flowers. Buying bulk soil for a big project is tricky when it comes to calculating how much you need. You should know the width and length of the area where you will put the soil down, as well as how deep you want the soil to be. You might also have your soil tested, so if you need to add amendments, you can order them at the same time.

3. Rocks

If you're buying gravel for mulch, walkways, or a patio, you'll probably want it delivered to your home in bulk. The truck can dump the gravel out for you to use at your convenience. If you're also ordering large flagstone for a patio, fire pit, or sidewalk, you'll need the heavy rocks delivered to your home since they are difficult to manage otherwise. You'll probably want to go to the landscape supply center so you can look the rocks over before you decide on the type you want to buy for your landscaping project. However, in many cases, if you know what you want to buy, you can order your bulk supplies over the phone without having to go in person.
